- COUNTDOWN LIGHT: If your hand stays in the sensing area, the green light is always on and the lid remains open. When your hand leaves, the green light starts flashing and the lid closes automatically after 5 seconds. (Requires 4 AA batteries (not included). Note: When the battery power reaches 4.8V, the display lights will illuminate red.
