ShieldSOS uses the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band, supported by virtually every home router whether single-band, dual-band, or mesh. WPA/WPA2 security required. Download the free ShieldSOS app (iOS 14 or later, Android 12 or later), select your 2.4GHz network, and setup takes minutes. If Wi-Fi goes down, ShieldSOS automatically switches to Bluetooth seamlessly (up to 30ft indoors) with no action needed.
- Up to 6 Months Battery Life, IP65 Weatherproof, Operates from -40°F to 140°F: Rechargeable 7.3V 6800mAh (49.64Wh) lithium-ion battery delivers up to 6 months of standby life. USB-C charging cable (1m) included. Wall adapter required for charging and optional wired-power, not included (any 5V/2A USB-C adapter works). For freezing outdoor locations, ShieldSOS has an internal heater which activates below 32°F when connected to USB-C power.
